Criminal Minds remains one of the most exciting and horrific trials on television. After the end of season 15 and a revival at Paramount+, the series certainly had no shortage of serial killers capable of profiling and capturing members of the behavioral analysis unit aka BAU. But even if the stories of the serial killers didn`t quite land, it was the team that never failed to get involved. With the arrival and departure of various members of the ranks over the years, history has never failed to show the darkness faced by BAU agents or the toll it took them to try to understand the minds of the worst criminals. Plus, the team that finished the series was the best yet, making the series` premature end even more disappointing. The team – with JJ (A.J. Cook), Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster), Reid (Matthew Gray Gubler), Tara Lewis (Aisha Tyler), Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), Matt Simmons (Daniel Henney) and Rossi (Joe Mantegna) felt more cohesive and worked better together at a balanced level than the team of previous seasons, something Hotch and Rossi always felt very difficult at every opportunity. Diving into the criminal in this way brought something unique to the procedural layout that cemented that Criminal Minds will always be special. – Jay Snow Each major case in the series spans an entire season, so more time and effort has gone into researching and breaking down the proper breakdown of how lawsuits play out, unlike other shows that throw weeks of litigation into a 40-minute episode. What also makes the show great is the fact that Patty (Glenn Close) will do anything to win a case, no matter how unethical it is. A look at the professional and personal lives of some of the military`s brightest legal minds in the courtroom, where each lawyer is trained as a prosecutor, defense attorney, investigator — and marine. The eight-part series offers intense courtroom drama on an archetypal premise that exposes the audience to the Italian judicial system.
At the same time, with its fascinating narrative and intense storytelling, the series keeps you hooked all the time. What makes it more nuanced are the characters who address the small social and legal issues that matter to everyone. If you`re in the mood for something classic in the legal genre but told differently, then The Trial is a must. The Staircase is a French-American miniseries documenting the trial of American writer Michael Peterson, convicted of the murder of his wife, Kathleen Peterson. In 2001, Michael reported that his wife had had an accident, but after further investigation, he became the prime suspect and was arrested for murder. He was then granted a new trial for misleading testimony. Legal drama at the highest level: The three-part arc of “D-Girl,” “Turnaround” and “Showtime” (season 7, episodes 15, 16, 17) brings New York detectives to Los Angeles after the murder of a Hollywood director`s wife and culminates in a high-profile trial. The Netflix original miniseries is based on a report by T. Christian Miller and Ken Armstrong, winner of the 2015 Pulitzer Prize, and their book A False Report. The show focuses on Marie and her experiences with police, courts, judges and jurors in eight episodes. The award-winning series received rave reviews and was critically acclaimed. If you love history, legal drama, or real crimes, then this is a show that covers everything and is sure to keep you stuck throughout.
The four-part historical legal drama is based on the real events of the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (also known as the Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal), which was established to try war criminals from the Japanese Empire after World War II. The series follows Annalise Keating (Viola Davis), a law professor and criminal defense attorney, who takes five students under her wing. It`s a fascinating drama because these same people are implicated in their own murder plot. The series is highly regarded mainly because of Davis` incredible portrayal of Keating, and it also has some interesting crossovers with Scandal. Since this is a seasonal anthology series, audiences don`t know much about the upcoming season, but the first two seasons of American Crime Story have taken the world by storm. Especially the first season, which was a great recreation of the infamous O.J. Simpson trial. Updated June 14, 2022 by Shawn S. Lealos: There have been great legal dramas over the years, and the one IMDb fans consider the best of the best ends his six-year series with its final 13 episodes.
When this season ends in August 2022, it will mark the end of the incredible story of Jimmy McGill/Saul Goodman. The documentary series features interviews with Los Angeles Times reporters, attorneys Jon Hatami and Scott Andrew Yang, as well as Los Angeles District Attorney Jackie Lacey and others involved in the case. Although the series has very disturbing content, The Trials of Gabriel Fernandez has been hailed by critics for bringing such a horrific incident to light. In “The Case of the Lucky Loser” (season 2, episode 2), Mason is hired to help a wealthy heir accused of death. When the client is accused twice of the same crime, Mason fights even harder to dig up evidence, making a shocking revelation in court in a classic “Perry Mason moment.” However, that doesn`t stop Pope from doing his job well and intelligently. The series is one of the few to break down barriers by having an African-American woman as the main character. After leaving the White House, Olivia Pope is one of the best fixators for politicians in the capital. There`s more to knowing why she left such a prestigious job and why she`s so good at what she does, making it one of the few great legal dramas directed more by a character than by legal affairs. Naturally, you may be hesitant to watch a Kevin Spacey series right now, given his crimes. Spacey`s involvement, however, should not obscure the fact that House of Cards changed television forever.
The first major Netflix original series boosted the game with its production value, and the first two episodes were directed by none other than David Fincher. House of Cards essentially launched the binge-watching phenomenon. Although the series has lost some of its quality over time, the first two seasons are among the most compelling political TV shows ever created. We also have one of the greatest female characters of recent times: Robin Wright`s Claire Underwood. — Liam Gaughan It is a universally accepted fact that the media is a powerful social tool, perhaps the most powerful. This show is a lasting proof of that. Trial by Media is a documentary series about real crime that features some of the most dramatic court cases in recent history and explores how mainstream media has influenced their judgments. At the peak of the series, there were memorable characters, from Chris Noth`s Mike Logan and Jerry Orbach`s Lennie Briscoe to the legendary prosecutor Jack McCoy, played by Sam Waterston. When it comes to scripted dramas, only SVU had more seasons than the original series` 22. The series was co-created by TV and film veterans who worked on popular shows and movies such as Law & Order, Men in Black, and Minority Report, among others.
While the story doesn`t seem radically different from standard legal dramas, Justice provides insight into the life, lifestyle, and family relationships of a part of the world that is still quite underrepresented. Limited to two seasons, the documentary series features expert lectures and interviews on false confessions, criminal law, criminal psychology and court proceedings. This immensely appreciated and positively commented show could give you the opportunity to learn more about many court cases in the United States that have never been revealed by the media, or at least the truth behind these cases. The Confession Tapes was first released on Netflix in 2017 and ended in 2019. The best thing about British series is that they don`t care about ending the stories they make. We`ve often seen examples of shows that were really great, but didn`t last more than two or three seasons. The reason wasn`t that they lacked viewers or anything else, the reason was that the creators knew when they had reached a climax in the series and wanted to leave it at that. We saw that most of the shows lost their credibility because they continued to do so even after everyone knew they had lost their popularity. It`s better to be finished than to be cancelled, right? And that`s why `Silk` is such a good show. It never reached its lowest point, so there was nothing more to complain about.
It showed the story of Martha Costello, a Trial Chamber lawyer, who wants to become the Queen`s Advocate. But she is not the only one with this ambition. The Practice was much more realistic and treated its viewers as if they were smart. And when it came to court cases, profound issues were discussed; including personal morality, which was a great approach considering defense lawyers had never been portrayed in such a light before.
