Over time, the seven hermetic principles were passed from master to student by word of mouth, and finally, one day in the early 20th century, the teachings were summarized in a book called The Kybalion, written by “The Three Initiates.” Today, they remain an occult source of wisdom, separate from any real religion, but still powerful. The last of the 7 hermetic principles. The principle of gender tells us that the masculine and the feminine are found in everything; Not only in people, but in all aspects of the mental, physical and spiritual level. This principle embodies the truth that there is always a correspondence between the laws and phenomena of the different planes of being and life. The old Hermetic axiom was: “As above, so below; as below, so above. And grasping this principle provides the means to solve many of nature`s dark paradoxes and hidden secrets. There are levels that are beyond our knowledge, but if we apply the principle of correspondence to them, we are able to understand many things that would not otherwise be known to us. This principle is universally applicable and manifested, at different levels of the material, mental and spiritual universe – it is a universal law. The ancient Hermeticists regarded this principle as one of the most important spiritual instruments with which man could repel the obstacles that hid the unknown from his eyes. Its use even tore the veil of Isis so far that a glimpse of the goddess`s face could be captured. Just as knowledge of the principles of geometry enables man to measure distant suns and their motions sitting in his observatory, so knowledge of the principle of correspondence enables man to think intelligently from the known to the unknown.
When he studies the monad, he understands the archangel. In this way, these two figures played a role in the creation of Hermetic philosophy. This principle embodies the truth that in everything there is a measured movement, back and forth; a river and a tributary; a back and forth; pendulum-like motion; a tidal ebb and flow; high tide and low tide; between the two poles, which exist according to the principle of polarity that we have just described. There is always action and reaction; an advance and a pension; an increase and a decrease. It is in the affairs of the universe, suns, worlds, humans, animals, spirit, energy and matter. This law is manifested in the creation and destruction of worlds; in the rise and fall of nations; in the life of all things; and, finally, in the mental states of man (and in the latter the hermelists find the most important understanding of the principle). Hermeticists grasped this principle, found its universal application, and also discovered some ways to overcome its effects through the use of appropriate formulas and methods. They apply the mental law of neutralization.
They cannot undo the principle or make it stop working, but they have learned to escape its effects on themselves to some extent, depending on mastering the principle. They learned to USE it instead of being used by it. In this method and similar methods consists the art of hermeticists. The master of hermeticism polarizes to the point where he wants to rest, then neutralizes the rhythmic swing of the pendulum, which tends to carry it to the other pole. All individuals who have attained some degree of self-control do so to some extent, more or less unconsciously, but Master does it consciously and through the use of his will, reaching a degree of balance and mental firmness almost impossible to believe on the part of the masses that are swung back and forth like a pendulum. This principle and that of polarity have been closely studied by hermetics, and methods of countering, neutralizing and using form an important part of hermetic mental alchemy. Hermetic teachings are found in all countries and all religions, their appeal is universal. In the early days, there was a compilation of some basic hermetic maxims, axioms and commandments that were passed from master to student, which is called “kyballion”. Moreover, the teachings of Hermeticism are compatible with much of modern science.
Moreover, these laws of the universe can be seamlessly integrated into a variety of different religions (and are also compatible with atheistic perspectives). When mastery is achieved, this balanced state becomes more habitual and does not require as much work, time and energy to try to stay in balance. This is achieved by “knowing oneself” and understanding those universal laws and balances that govern our being. To know God, we must understand God`s laws. Many have tried to understand the laws of nature that govern our universe. Some say it are 12 years old, while others, like Hermes Trismegistus, say it seven. Trismegistus explains the fundamental laws of our reality in his seven hermetic principles. Learn about these principles and how we can all use them as inspiration and empowerment. The universe is governed by laws, which means that nothing happens without reason.
You may not be able to directly identify a specific cause for a particular effect, as the cause can occur at different levels of existence, but each action has a ripple effect that leads to a consequence. If we take the time to understand these laws, we can enforce them. We can use them. We can fight gravity to fly. We can use the knowledge that we will have to die for one day to live a better life. This principle embodies the truth that gender manifests itself in everything – the masculine and feminine principles that are always at work. This applies not only on a physical level, but also on a mental and even spiritual level. On the physical plane, the principle manifests itself in the form of SEX, on the higher planes, it takes higher forms, but the principle is always the same. No creation, physically, mentally or spiritually, is possible without this principle. An understanding of its laws will shed light on many issues that have confused people`s minds.
