While all of these elements are important and form the basis of some discussions in law, they are not the main objective. Instead, the focus is on law enforcement: being able to use your knowledge of certain laws and cases to solve legal problems. In this area of study, you will need to investigate two crimes in detail. You need to consider real or hypothetical scenarios where a person charged with a crime has been charged with the crime and use legal arguments to support various legal issues. One of the biggest areas of this area of study that people often emphasize is recent and recommended reforms to the civil justice system. You need to be able to use a few case studies to talk about how to improve the realization of justice principles in the civil justice system, so really focus on developing an understanding of how real-world cases or scenarios relate to key concepts and ideas in the study of law. Section B has 40 points and includes case studies. It is very easy to lose points in section B, as many people forget to refer to case studies in their answers. My advice is to make sure you include the person`s name, case name, and as many other case study documents as possible in your response. If you do not refer to the case study in section B, 1 point will be automatically deducted. I`ve finished Legal 1/2 and am currently doing 3/4 so maybe I can help with this one. From what I`ve observed, all content that comes back from 1/2 to 3/4 is explicitly taught, so you don`t have to do a huge amount of checks to keep up.
Most of the topics that are rehashed are also relatively simple/basic concepts. However, I think 1/2 can provide an advantage for students who have not completed the 1/2 part of the course, but with a small revision of the 1/2 course during the holiday season, this benefit should be quite negligible. One of the law professors often asked me if I wanted to join her class. I asked her exactly this question, and she said that for students with no previous experience, she gives a summary booklet and the vacation work they need to do before 3/4. TL: DR – You should be fine, just check out some of the most important parts of the course 1/2 during the summer holidays. If you don`t know the answer to a question, come back to it. During an exam, you should try to answer as many questions as possible, so don`t waste time answering questions you don`t have answers to. Come back to it later and write down what you can. In legal studies, you focus primarily on the functioning of the legal system, the effectiveness of various aspects of the legal system, and the structure of Australian government. When I took notes, I made sure to highlight all the important points and nothing more. Any legal terms or phrases I would highlight to get my attention. I would also create mind maps to summarize my notes.
