Coyote: Daytime hunting hours, see table above. Coyote hunting during the night coyote hunting season (December 16 to August 31) is legal from 1/2 hour after sunset to 1/2 hour before sunrise and ends every Saturday at midnight and continues on Mondays at 00:01. (ii) We allow hunters to enter the refuge 1 hour before the legal shooting hours and they must leave the refuge 1 hour after the legal shooting hours. **Season dates vary by wildlife management area or district. The following acts and regulations apply specifically to the spring and fall wild turkey hunting season. Hunters must also comply with all other applicable fishing and wildlife laws. Any private landowner has the right to hunt wild turkey on their own land without a turkey hunting licence if: ii) All species harvested in the sanctuary must be recovered. (iii) You may hunt black bear, eastern coyote and white-tailed deer during archery and firearms season on Baring Division east of National Highway 191. Harvest restrictions, special seasons and hunting regulations for Maine`s hunting season vary by animal and season. The registration fee for a wild turkey is $2. (iv) We only allow blinds and temporary brackets that you must remove at the end of each hunting day (see § 27.93 of this chapter). (2) Highland hunting. We authorize the hunting of bobcat, eastern coyote, grouse, snowshoe hare, red fox, grey and squirrels, raccoons, skunks, porcupines and forest chicks in designated areas of refuge under the following conditions: (ii) We open designated youth hunting grounds to hunters 15 years of age and under who hold and carry a refuge hunting licence (form ASA 3-2439, Application for Hunting – National System of Wildlife Sanctuaries). A combination of spring/fall wild turkey is also required and available for $20 plus agent fees. Young hunters and hunters over the age of 70 are exempt from the $20 licence fee. (4) Sport fishing. We allow sport fishing in designated areas of the refuge under the following conditions: We prohibit the capture of fish as bait. (i) Petit Manan Point is only open during the muzzle loading season. (ii) We only allow shotgun hunting and archery. We are banning muzzle-loading rifles and firearms for hunting. Maine`s Outdoor Partners program gives hunters access to private farms, forests, and land. Although the land is open to the public, seasonal hunting may require permits or permits from landowners. The state also offers hunters for the hungry, where hunters donate some or all of their game to needy regional families. Only for the fall 2022 wild turkey season: Wild turkey harvested ONLY in the fall does not need to be registered or tagged for transport.
All wild turkeys caught in the spring must always be registered and tagged for transport. (iv) We only allow archery in areas of the Little River Division that are open to hunting. 4. The land shall be open to hunting, including hunting, only with permission. (ii) We allow the installation of trees, blinds and ladders on the opening day of the archery season. Hunters must clearly mark tree populations, blinds or ladders left overnight at the refuge with your hunting license number and last name. Hunters must remove tree stands, blinds and/or ladders from the shelter on the last day of the feeder season by mouth (see § 27.93 of this chapter). (iii) We allow temporary blinds and tree populations clearly marked with the owner`s state hunting license number. They may erect temporary blinds and trees no earlier than 14 days before the hunting season and must remove them within 14 days of the hunting season (see § 27.93 of this chapter).
