Costs: The World Bank does not reimburse participants in the World Bank`s Legal Internship Program in the form of cash fees or compensation.
However, each World Bank lawyer shall be compensated in accordance with World Bank Group policies and standards in the form of (i) monetary fees/compensation paid by the University or another sponsoring organization acceptable to the Bank; or (ii) academic credits in accordance with the Bank`s fee schedule. Therefore, students participating in the World Bank`s Legal Internship Program should secure appropriate sources of funding for the duration of their internship. You can choose from a range of market-leading internships that are time-limited between 12 and 24 months. You will receive a monthly scholarship as well as valuable coaching and mentoring while studying for your qualification. Fall Internship Program: The application period begins April 1 and ends April 30 (the proposed internship period is 10 to 12 weeks, usually between September and November, depending on the prevailing need). This is an excellent opportunity for students who wish to gain work experience at the World Bank during the academic year in the form of internships while enrolled in a full-time law program, or for those enrolled in part-time and/or evening law programs. Under U.S. Department of Homeland Security rules, students who are eligible to participate in the OPT prior to graduation may work part-time (20 hours or less per week) during school hours. Country office internship: The Legal Vice-Presidency has limited its on-site internships to offices where a lawyer from the Legal Vice-Presidency is present. Our internship is a 32-week programme that gives you the opportunity to learn about the different disciplines that Stanbic Zimbabwe has to offer, in addition to challenging tasks, to develop your skills and network with other interns and bank employees. Throughout the internship, you will work on activities within your team, receive projects, and attend a variety of training sessions to enhance your learning.
At the end of the program, you will be evaluated. Our intention is to show you where your strengths lie and if there are opportunities for you to develop further. Preference will be given to candidates who are proficient in a second language, especially if it is one of IBRD`s working languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish).
